Privacy Policy

Last updated: 10 August 2026

Iwannabesaved (“the app”) is published by Fred Garcia (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what the app does and does not do with your information.

The short version

  • There is no account, no login, and no user profile.
  • Your blocked-app selection, your Bible highlights, your notes, and your settings stay on your device.
  • The only thing that ever leaves your device is what you tell Pause & Pray — the feeling you tap, the closeness slider, any optional text you write, and a few of your setup answers — and it is used once, to write your prayer.
  • Your name never leaves your phone. We ask for it so the app can greet you, and it stays on the device.
  • No analytics SDKs, no tracking, no advertising, and we do not sell your data.

No account, no profile

The app does not ask you to sign up or sign in. We do not create user accounts, we do not assign you an identifier for the purpose of tracking you, and we do not build a profile about you or your spiritual life.

What stays on your device

The following never leaves your iPhone, and we cannot see any of it:

  • Your blocked-app selection. App blocking is built on Apple's Screen Time and Family Controls frameworks. By Apple's design, the apps you choose are represented by opaque tokens that stay on your device — they are not readable by us and are not transmitted anywhere.
  • Bible content, highlights, and notes. The Bible text is bundled with the app and read offline. Anything you highlight or write is stored locally.
  • App settings, Daily Fast state, and your companion's progress. All stored locally.

Deleting the app removes this local data from your device.

Pause & Pray (the one thing that is sent)

When you use Pause & Pray, the app sends the following to our server — and nothing else:

  • The feeling you tap, chosen from a fixed list — Anxious, Tempted, Tired, Discouraged, Grateful, or Peaceful.
  • The closeness value you set on the slider (how close you feel to God right now).
  • If you choose to write one, the optional focus text describing what is on your heart. This field is optional — you can leave it blank, and the prayer still works.
  • Three answers from your first-time setup, so the prayer sounds like it was written for you rather than for anyone: your faith tradition, the one thing you are hoping for, and your age range. Each is picked from a short fixed list — you never type them.

All three setup answers are optional. If you chose “Rather not say” for your tradition, that answer is never sent at all — declining is treated as an answer in itself. Your tradition is used only to shape the wording of the prayer, and the prayer never names a denomination back at you.

Nothing else about you is included in the request. Your name is never sent — it is asked for once, kept on your device, and used only to greet you in the app. There is no email, no device identifier, and no account, because there is no account to have.

Our server is a Supabase Edge Function. It passes your input to Anthropic's API (Claude) to generate the prayer, and returns the prayer to your device. That is the entire purpose of the request.

The text of your request and the prayer that comes back are not saved to a database, not attached to any identity, and not used to build a profile of you. We do not use your prayer content to train models.

As with any request over the internet, the request necessarily carries technical information such as your IP address, and our hosting provider may keep short-lived operational logs for security and reliability.

We also use your IP address for one specific, limited purpose: rate limiting. To stop the prayer service being abused and running up a bill, our server keeps a short-lived counter of how many prayers have been requested from an IP address in the current hour. That counter holds the IP address and a number — never your prayer content — and it is deleted automatically a few hours later. It is not linked to any identity, is not readable by the app, and is not used to identify you, profile you, or track you across sessions.

Service providers

We rely on two providers to deliver Pause & Pray. They process data on our behalf as subprocessors:

  • Supabase — hosts the Edge Function that receives your request.
  • Anthropic — generates the prayer text from the feeling you tapped, your closeness value, and your optional focus text. Anthropic does not use this content to train their models.

We do not share your information with anyone else, and we do not sell or rent it to anyone, ever.

Notifications

The app uses local notifications only — scheduled on your device, by your device. There is no push server, and we cannot send you a message remotely. You can turn notifications off at any time in iOS Settings.

What we don't do

  • No analytics or tracking SDKs.
  • No advertising, and no ad identifiers.
  • No third-party trackers or social media pixels.
  • No sale or sharing of personal information for advertising.
  • No cross-app or cross-site tracking.

Children

Iwannabesaved is a general-audience faith app. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us at the address below and we will address it.

Your choices

Because the app has no accounts and we do not store your prayer content, there is generally no personal data of yours for us to look up, export, or delete on request. Your controls are direct:

  • Leave the optional focus field blank, or don't use Pause & Pray.
  • Revoke Screen Time access for the app at any time in iOS Settings.
  • Delete the app to remove all local data.

If you are in a region with data protection rights (such as the EEA, the UK, or California) and you believe we hold information about you, write to us and we will respond.

Changes to this policy

If the app changes in a way that affects this policy, we will update this page and revise the “Last updated” date above.
