Terms & Conditions

These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of the Iwannabesaved iPhone app (“the app”), published by Fred Garcia (“we”, “us”). By downloading or using the app, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

1. Your licence to use the app

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the app on Apple devices you own or control, for your own non-commercial use, in accordance with Apple's App Store Terms of Service. You may not copy, modify, reverse-engineer, resell, or redistribute the app or any part of it, except where that restriction is prohibited by law.

2. No account

The app does not require an account. You are responsible for the device you use it on and for anything done through the app on that device.

3. App blocking is a tool, not a guarantee

The Gate and Daily Fast features use Apple's Screen Time and Family Controls frameworks to block apps you choose. These features are designed to add friction and create a moment of pause — they are not a security control and are not tamper-proof. A determined user can disable blocking, change settings, break a fast, uninstall the app, or otherwise get around it. We do not warrant that blocking will be uninterrupted, complete, or effective for any particular purpose, and we are not responsible for anything you access when it isn't.

4. AI-generated prayers

Pause & Pray generates prayer text using an AI model (Anthropic's Claude), based on the closeness value you select and the optional focus text you write. Please understand:

• The text is generated automatically. It is not reviewed by a person before you see it, and it may occasionally be inaccurate, awkward, or not what you hoped for.
• It is not doctrinal authority, not scriptural interpretation, and not a substitute for Scripture, your church, or your pastor.
• Pause & Pray requires an internet connection. If the service is unavailable, prayer generation may fail.

Use your own discernment. If generated text ever seems wrong or harmful, please tell us at support@iwannabesaved.com.

5. Not professional advice

The app is a devotional and habit tool. It does not provide medical, psychological, therapeutic, addiction-treatment, or professional counselling services, and it is not a substitute for any of them. If you are struggling with compulsive behaviour, addiction, or a mental health crisis, please seek help from a qualified professional. If you are in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the app to:

• break any law, or infringe anyone's rights;
• submit content into the focus field that is unlawful, abusive, or intended to manipulate the AI service into producing harmful output;
• attempt to disrupt, overload, probe, or gain unauthorised access to our servers or the services we depend on;
• use automated means to access the prayer generation service.

We may rate-limit or block requests that appear abusive, in order to keep the service available for everyone.

7. Bible text

The Bible text included in the app is provided under the licence of its publisher, and remains the property of its respective copyright holder. Translation and attribution details are shown in the app.

8. Our content

The app itself — its name, design, artwork, companion illustrations, and code — belongs to us and is protected by copyright and other laws. These Terms do not transfer any ownership to you.

9. Your content

The notes and highlights you write stay on your device; we claim no ownership of them. When you submit optional focus text to Pause & Pray, you grant us permission to process it for the sole purpose of generating your prayer, as described in our Privacy Policy.

10. Third-party services

The app relies on Apple (device and Screen Time frameworks), Supabase (server hosting), and Anthropic (prayer generation). Their availability is outside our control, and their own terms apply to their services.

11. Disclaimer of warranties

The app is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any defect will be corrected. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties, so some of these exclusions may not apply to you.

12. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, arising out of or relating to your use of the app. Our total liability for any claim relating to the app will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid for the app or US $50. Some jurisdictions do not allow these limitations, so they may not apply to you.

13. Changes to the app and these Terms

We may update, change, or discontinue the app or any of its features at any time. If we change these Terms, we will update this page and revise the “Last updated” date. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the revised Terms.

14. Termination

You may stop using the app at any time by deleting it. We may suspend access to the prayer generation service if these Terms are breached.

15. Apple

Apple is not a party to these Terms and has no obligation to provide support for the app. Apple is a third-party beneficiary of these Terms and may enforce them against you.

16. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of [STATE / COUNTRY], without regard to its conflict of law rules, and any dispute will be brought in the courts located there.
